Tutorial Time- Using Rhinestones

Earlier this week I posted swatches of Elevation Polish The Twinkle in Yeti's Eye. I decided to try my hand at some nail art, and had some success. Click here to see the swatches of Twinkle on its own.

Here's what you need to do nail art with rhinestones-
There are a couple of ways of applying rhinestones, but here's what I find to be the easiest.

1. Start out with painted, dry nails.

2. Choose your rhinestone. I opted to go with orange and yellow stones to bring out the shimmer in Twinkle.
3. Using your tweezers, pinch a rhinestone and dip the flat side in either nail glue, or clear top coat. I feel that top coat is easier to work with, though nail glue will help your design last longer.
4. Place the rhinestone on your nail where you want it to be. If you're using top coat as your glue, it's a little easier to move and manipulate your stone than it is with nail glue.
5. You can either stop at this point for a simple, subtle sparkle, or repeat steps 1-4 for more impact. Once you have all your stones where you want them, give them a few minutes to dry, then apply a clear topcoat over the full nail.
6. Yay, you're done!
